Launching School Leadership Network


AWSP's Launching School Leadership Network brings new and newly assigned school leaders three opportunities to maximize their leadership during the first year. Attendees will hear from practicing principals and other educational experts in each workshop, which are based on one of three stages during a new leader's first year.

Stage 1

July 24-25, 2024
Location: AWSP Office

  • Planning your first 100 Days
  • Strategies to build relationships with your students, “staffulty” and community
  • Assessing the climate, culture, and chaos of your building and identifying next steps
  • Helping you establish boundaries, routines and procedures for success - your “new normal”

November 18-19, 2024

  • Identifying and assessing system health and developing action steps
  • Maximizing your personal strengths to begin building your school’s five-year vision
  • Helping you move from surviving to thriving
  • Strategies to get the most out of your classroom observations

March 10-11, 2025

  • Support in the final home stretch of evaluations for you and your staff
  • Using data as a planning and response tool
  • Having time to tackle your own problem of practice with colleagues
  • Planning a strong finish and memorable re-launch

Pricing

Full Series:

$800 AWSP member / $1600 non-member

Single Stage:

$300 AWSP member / $600 non-member

Price includes clock hours and breakfast and lunch each day

Time

Each Stage:
Day 1: 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Day 2: 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Registration includes 12 Leadership clock hours per stage and breakfast and lunch on each day.

CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY: All refund requests must be made in writing. A 20% processing fee will be deducted from all refunds.
  • Full Refund: Requests must be received 20 business days before the workshop. (Minus a 20% processing fee.)
  • 50% Refund: Requests must be received 10-19 business days before the workshop. (Minus a 20% processing fee.)
  • No Refund: No-shows or cancellation requests received within 10 business days of the workshop will not receive a refund.
Workshop Series Refund: Refund requests for workshop series packages must be received 20 business days before the first session in the package.
